Stevenage bingo player call 'house' on National Jackpot

Stevenage business woman, Dannie Westbury-Barnes definitely had lady luck on her side when she managed to scoop the National Bingo Game Jackpot prize, worth a whopping £50,000, at Beacon Bingo Cricklewood on 11th November.  

When asked about her amazing win, Dannie, owner of Diamond Transport, a company that transports special needs children to and from school, said, "It was amazing to win the National Bingo Game, and a complete shock. It got down to the final chance to win the big jackpot prize, and as I pointed at my machine my number was called. I wasn't sure if I'd won the big jackpot, or just the house prize until it was confirmed: it was all very surreal! I went straight outside to phone my husband and tell him what I'd won."

"The other players were all cheering and clapping for me, and a lot came up to congratulate me afterwards which was lovely - it really is like one big family. I've decided to split the prize money with my mum and sister, who were both there with me on the night."

Dannie added, "My children and I were going to America to visit a family friend over Christmas, but after this win the rest of the family have decided to join us! It's the first Christmas since my grandson was born in September, so it will be lovely to have the whole family together at Christmas."
