This rare feat has not only brought joy to the lucky players but also created a buzz throughout the local community and the broader bingo industry.
The first win occurred on 18th June, during what seemed like an ordinary Tuesday evening. A regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, was enjoying her usual bingo session when all her numbers came up on the National Bingo Game. She was stunned to fi nd she had won the top prize of £50,000.
Josh Davis, manager of Coronet Bingo, recalled the moment: “It was a typical session until it became anything but! The atmosphere in the club was fantastic, and everyone was thrilled for the winner. We are so happy for her and know this win will change her life.”
Laurie Carpenter, proprietor of Coronet Bingo, added, “We’ve always said that bingo is about more than just winning; it’s about the social experience. But it’s fantastic that our small club can have such a positive impact on people’s lives with these big wins.”
If that weren’t exciting enough, just weeks later, on 3rd August, the club celebrated another life-changing win. A 25-year-old woman from Oxford, also wishing to remain anonymous, was playing the National Bingo Game at Coronet with a group of friends.
Despite being new to bingo, she hit the jackpot, securing yet another £50,000 prize. She has plans to buy a new car and put some of the winnings towards a deposit on a house.
Sean Tucker, the manager on duty that evening, said, “All of the customers in the club were overjoyed for the winner.
It was an amazing experience to witness someone win such a huge amount. Honestly, I think I was more nervous than the winner! It’s incredible that our litt le club has had two big wins in just a couple of months.”
Alastair Stewart, Head of Commercial Operations at the National Bingo Game, expressed his excitement for Coronet Bingo’s streak of good fortune: “We are thrilled for the lucky winners at Coronet Bingo in Didcot. It just goes to show that clubs of all sizes can win BIG on the National Bingo Game. This small, independent club must be the luckiest in the area! We love making winners and hope these recent winners enjoy their well-deserved prizes.”
With two £50,000 jackpots won at Coronet Bingo within weeks, the club has proven that you don’t have to be a big venue to enjoy the big wins. These victories have brought excitement not only to Didcot but also to the entire bingo community, reinforcing the idea that luck can strike anywhere, at any time.
